Absolutely not. Children learn a lot about what it means to be respectful and polite here. As a result, kids who weren’t violent in the first place become even more respectful and kind. Kids with behavior problems often become very respectful and calm.

Sometimes. But the truth is, injuries are very, very rare here. We have a lot of measures in place to keep your child perfectly safe. In fact, safety is our #1 concern.

Absolutely. Martial arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible and strong. Kids who don’t naturally have these qualities develop them. Kids who do have these qualities grow them even more.

Kids have a blast here. There’s smiling and laughter throughout every class. We have our moments of intense concentration and focus… but we always balance things out with little fun to keep everything alive and light.

Absolutely, Kids with low self-esteem often come out of their shells. As their skill level increases, they feel more and more confident. Other kids look up to them, just as they look up to others who are ahead of them. This builds confidence, pride, and teamwork.

Any age! Most kids range from 5 to teenagers. Classes are customized to suit children of different ages. A teenager receives very different treatment than a 6 year old, for example.

Our martial arts classes have been, and always will be, for boys AND girls! Every class has a good blend of the two as well. In fact, girls often get the hang of it sooner than boys as they’re naturally more flexible.

Any physical activity can lead to injury – and Martial Arts is no exception – but because we place such care in keeping you safe… We hardly EVER see any injuries here. We guide you through the perfect way to do each technique. That way you don’t do it in a way that harms your body. We also show you how to stretch properly – reducing your chances for injury even more. And you go at your own pace. That way you don’t force your body to do anything it isn’t capable of. Students who pick up on Martial Arts quickly are just as valued as the ones who need to slow down, and learn at a different pace.
People who do Martial Arts are never the ones to start fights. They’re the ones who do everything in their power to avoid fights.
But if a fight has to happen, you’ll be ready to defend yourself. So no, Martial Arts is not violent. As far as your body goes… The exercise involved may be tough for you at first. But you’re welcome to go at your own pace. This isn’t the army or anything! We’re here to support you and see you succeed. It may be a little hard on your body, but not so hard as to cause injuries. Just hard enough for a great, calorie-burning workout.
Not at all! In fact, many of our students are people who just never liked any other sports. They were never athletic before joining this class, but are now in better shape than just about anyone else they know! They’re lean, fit, and feeling great. So if you’re not athletic already – don’t worry. We’ll help you get there.
