“For many years I was a runner and completed 15 marathons, but I had to give up running and find another activity due to my knees. One day as I was driving past the Moo Duk Kwan karate school and seeing the sign. Little did I know what a life-changing experience it would be. I ventured in and as they say, the rest is history. I began to train and soon embraced the art, its philosophy, traditions, and discipline. It became a way of life. My training took me through all the Gup levels up to 2nd degree and Jo Kyo, (assistant instructor). When I reached Cho Dan I realized that my training was just beginning.
As a Jo Kyo, I believe that continuous training for me and all belts helps us to blossom through all the challenges and experience maturity. The Do Jang is a home to all practitioners who train. Moo Duk Kwan helped me accept the challenges, gain confidence and gain a positive attitude which will remain with me for life. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan is truly the Living Art”
